Raeesa Amin completed her matric at Maritzburg Muslim School for Girls (MMSG) and went on to complete her BSc Degree in Dietetics and Human Nutrition at the University of KwaZulu-Natal in 2015. She participated in Infant and Young Child Feeding programs and the Integrated Management of Acute Malnutrition (IMAM).

Raeesa completed her one year community service at Christ The King Hospital in Ixopo in the year 2016. During this time at Christ The King Hospital, she obtained invaluable experience addressing food insecurity in the communities through community nutrition as well as in treating malnutrition and diseases of lifestyle conditions. Directly in line with our vision, Raeesa comes with insight into working with impoverished communities and has also been involved with NGO’s over the years. Her involvement and passion for volunteer work enables her to be able to work with people of all ages, races, cultures, abilities and so forth resulting in a good quality of service being rendered.

Raeesa also comes from a strong Islamic background and can therefore address queries regarding halaal and haraam status and provide valuable insight into religious based enquiries. She has also gained experience in the Food Service industry working at King Dinuzulu Hospital (690 bed hospital) and can thus cater for any individual irrespective of culture or creed as well as plan analyze and implement therapeutic diet menus for large scale catering institutions.
